Here's the reason I lowered my support score for Nutaku

I know I'm just one person and this announcement might not have much of an impact but considering what I do with this website, I feel like I'm obligated to mention when I think a gaming platform has become a bad actor and I think it's too significant for just hover text like I normally do. Also, since I know how the internet is, please don't harass Nutaku or Nutaku's support team over what I'm saying in this announcement. It's not helpful and I don't support that kind of behavior. If you are going to talk about this publicly, please be civil and constructive about this.

For those who just want a TL DR, basically I had an issue with Nutaku that on paper is insignificant but the way they handled my support request leaves me questioning their intentions. While they did remedy the issue within less than 24 hours, they never properly explained what happened and, depending on exactly what actually happened, they may have either tried to "micro scam" me (I don't know if there's an actual term for this type of scam) thinking that I wouldn't notice or they just simply lied to me for some reason and have chosen to ignore my follow up questions. Since I'm not fully aware of what actually happened and I have no prior reason to suspect them of intentionally doing anything wrong, I'm only going to be lowering their score for how much I support them by just a single point. If they do end up properly responding to my email or I hear similar things from other people, I'll either have to lower it further, possibly even remove it from the chart, or, if things turn out well, undo my score change entirely and remove this announcement page as well.

Now, for those that actually do want the full explanation. While I don't fully know if it's relevent or not because Nutaku didn't answer me, I initially had a problem on the 9th (of Sep, 2026) at around 1 or 2 AM, I tried to redeem my daily rewards like I do pretty much every night (there are some days I forget to check) but it failed to redeem. It's not common but on rare occasions the redemption can fail, so I usually just ignore it and move on when because it's normally fixed by the next day. Going to the next night, I logged in to redeem the daily rewards and while it did work like I expected it to, all of the gold in my Nutaku wallet was gone.

Before I explain further, I need to mention that I keep a spreadsheet with all the gold that I've earned through the daily rewards so that I know when they're about to expire. All of the gold I had at the time shouldn't have even been close to expiring because it was all less than two months old and their FAQs state that gold from daily rewards doesn't expire until after 180 days (about 6 months). That being said, I quickly decided to submit a support request to them about this issue and I told them about the spreadsheet so they know I've been keeping track of my gold and I also asked them about the issue I had the night prior.

They responded very quickly, about 5 hours after I submitted the support request, and they did reinstate the amount I lost back into my account. But here's the problem, the response they gave Isn't sitting well with me because not only did they seem to ignore half of what I said, they also said something that doesn't make sense to me. They said that the gold in my wallet "slowly expired over time" despite the fact that the gold literally disapeared over night. I responded to their email to try and ask for further clarification of what happened, which was at 2:51 PM on Sep 10th, 2026, and they have yet to respond.

Now, I will admit that on paper this whole thing sounds very minor and it has been remedied. I've also used Nutaku long enough to not fully suspect them of doing something wrong intentionally. But the fact that they lied to me about a minor issue, aren't telling me what actually happened and they're not responding to my request for clarification, along with the fact that it's entirely possible that I could have missed this if I hadn't been keeping track of my gold, I can't help but think that they may have tried to essentially scam me by silently removing my gold without me noticing and just came up with a quick excuse thinking that I'd just let it slide. If something like this can happen to me, assuming I'm correct, there's nothing preventing it from happening to other people and if I'm not the only one they tried this with, I can't support Nutaku anymore.

I know that some people may think that this isn't that big of an issue but I do just simply because of something called the "snowball effect". If they did actually do this intentionally, thinking that everyone effected would either not notice or let it slide once support resolves it, there's nothing preventing them from going further and I don't think I can trust Nutaku anymore. I'm still giving them a 2 because they support Linux and their games are all DRM free but I'm going to be a bit skeptical of them until they respond, assuming they even do.
